Well, the wonder is over for us… we found out we are having a precious baby boy! Originally we wanted to be surprised with the gender of our piccolo (piccolo is what we’ve been calling the baby), but with so many appointments and hospital visits and all the different doctors and nurses, we knew it was possible that it could accidentally be announced. We’d done so good in asking everyone at every visit to refrain from telling us; The ONE time I forgot to request it the nurse let it slip. I yelped “oh no!” and she immediately knew what she’d done.
It was a mixture of emotions. I felt cheated, but I was also so happy and excited. I wanted to cry and laugh and didn’t know why! I guess I was mourning my surprise. David was over the moon, but he was also sad as we both really wanted to find out at birth. We had been having so much fun trying to find gender neutral baby stuff. We got over it pretty quickly. We asked to see his little goods and there was no mistaking it, we were staring at a boy! Our minds just started racing with visions of our future and a little dude added to the mix. The only thing missing now, is a name…
